COMMUNICABLE DISEASE FOLLOW-UP
The purpose of communicable disease control is to provide rapid, coordinated,
and effective responses to disease outbreaks or threatening situations.
FOLLOW-UP ACITIVITIES INCLUDE
* Health education to individuals, groups and to the community at large,
regarding disease transmission and prevention
* Monitoring of disease trends and initiation of control measures
* Notification and immunization of people who have been in contact with a
vaccine preventable communicable disease
* Investigation and follow-up of suspected food-borne illness
A TEAM OF PUBLIC HEALTH NURSES, EPIDEMIOLOGIST, PUBLIC HEALTH INSPECTORS ARE
ABLE TO HELP IN THE PROCESS OF COMMUNICABLE DISEASE FOLLOW-UP
PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE COMMUNITY TO BE
