What is Homemaker Home Health Aide Service?
***Enables aging or chronically ill persons to continue to live at home
***Provides needed services for persons returning home from a hospital or nursing home
***Provides service to ill, mentally ill or physically disabled children or adults to relieve other family members
***Provides supervision and physical care of children or emotional support for parents
***Services include teaching parenting skills
***Gives personal care such as a bath and shampoo, tends the sick, plan nutritious meals, and self-directed Therapy normally done by family members
***Comforts the disturbed child, Encourages the depressed parent, Understands the fears and the Frustration of the elderly
***Cares for the children, shops and prepares meals for the family, does meals for the family, does the laundry and light housekeeping and transportation for medical appointments
THE HOMEMAKER HOME HEALTH AIDE IS A CARING, SUPERVISED MEMBER OF A PROFESSIONAL TEAM WHO ARE CERTIFIED NURSES AIDES AND HAVE RECEIVED THE HOMEMAKER HOME HEALTH AIDE TRAINING AS REQUIRED BY THE IOWA STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH.
RESPITE SERVICES
Respite services are available through a grant with Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging. We are happy to announce that we provide this service for families in Chickasaw County. “Respite” refers to short term, temporary care provided to people with disabilities in order that their families can take a break from the daily routine of care giving.
