| Maternal/Child Health Program |
Chickasaw County Public Health is working to improve the health and well being of women, children, youth and families, including those with special health care needs. Chickasaw County is dedicated to providing quality services to Mothers and Children.
MATERNAL HEALTH PROGRAM
If you are pregnant with or without insurance, you may qualify for PRESUMPTIVE ELIGIBILITY which helps pay for your medical expenses during your pregnancy. For those who qualify under PRESUMPTIVE ELIGIBILITY, it is a quick approach to get your medical expenses covered under Title XIX before going into the DHS office to sign up which is a longer process of finding out whether or not you qualify.
***If you are pregnant and are considered high risk, you could have a Public Health Nurse follow your pregnancy closely in addition to your medical appointments. The Public Health Nurse would also make referrals as needed in the community for any further services you may need.
***The Public Health Nurse can also provide a home visit for you after your baby is born for physical assessment for you and the baby and any health teaching that you may need including infant cares and breastfeeding.
To find out whether or not you are high risk or for more information on PRESUMPTIVE ELIGIBLITY, you may notify our office at (641) 394-4053 or Toll Free at 1-800-579-5815.
