COUNTY BOARD MINUTES
OCTOBER 25 & 26, 2004
The Board convened on Monday, October 25, 2004 at with all members present: Huegel, Schueth, Pickar, Mattke. Boge was absent. The meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman Huegel. Mail was opened and distributed.
Bernette Njus, Homemaker Director, met with the Board to request an additional part-time, on-call homemaker aide with approval granted.
Sue Breitbach, Treasurer, met with the Board to request approval for Christmas lighting on December 2, 2004, within the Courthouse and surrounding yard on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce.
Motion by Schueth, Seconded by Mattke, to approve Christmas lighting in the Courthouse and yard for Magical Moments event on December 2, 2004.Roll Call: Four Ayes. Motion Carried.
CountyEngineer Dusten Rolando met with the Board to discuss road departmental activities.
Motion by Pickar, Seconded by Schueth, to approve and authorize Chairman to sign permit for Iowa Telecom to place buried cable in county right of way along South Linn Avenue (Johnson Subdivision) in Sections 19 & 30 of New Hampton Township.Roll Call: Four Ayes. Motion Carried.
Motion by Schueth, Seconded by Huegel, to approve and authorize Chairman to sign permit for Iowa Telecom to replace buried cable in county right of way along Roanoke Avenue south of 110th Street in Section 30 of Utica Township. Roll Call: Four Ayes. Motion Carried.
Secondary Roads is purchasing two digital cameras at $300.00 each, with cost savings derived from no longer having film developed.Cameras will store 100 pictures which are downloaded to computer laser printers. Final plans for Jasper Avenue bridge are being submitted for construction in 2005. Engineer updated the Board of quad-T culvert construction recently completed on Roanoke Avenue.
Motion by Schueth, Seconded by Pickar, to approve Board Minutes of October 18 & 19, 2004. Roll Call: Four Ayes. Motion Carried.
Supervisor Mattke left the meeting at for a doctor appointment.
Loren Kiel and Karla Baumler, representing Midwest Benefits, Inc. met with the Board to review health insurance 3rd Quarter claims statistics and present vendor quote information for upcoming January 1, 2005 renewal. Doug Welton, Assessor, was also present.
Motion by Schueth, Seconded by Pickar, to adjourn at Roll Call: Three Ayes. Motion Carried.

Sheila Kobliska, CPC, met with the Board for Case Management staff introductions, as follows: Teri Rabe, Megan Darrow, Mitchell County Case Managers, Janet Larsen, Administrative Assistant and Vanessa Johnson, student intern. Mental Health departmental updates followed.
Gene Fritch, representing Howard R. Green Company, performed the October semi-annual landfill inspection. Fritch reported on the landfill inspection, in ChickasawCounty which is in post closure status, is in compliance in areas.
The Board received and filed Howard R. Green Company Fall 2004 Semi-Annual Landfill Report.
The Board received and filed IDNR requested incomplete paperwork for Bodensteiner Site (ID#58597), owned by Gerald & Ruth Lynch, located in Section 27, Township 96, Range 11.
