COUNTY BOARD MINUTES
MARCH 19 & 20, 2007
The Board convened on Monday, March 19, 2007 with a quorum present: Pickar, Huegel, Schueth. Boge and Mattke were absent. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pickar. Mail was opened and distributed.
Motion by Huegel, Seconded by Schueth, to approve Agenda for March 19 & 20, 2007.Three Ayes, with Motion Carried.
Motion by Schueth, Seconded by Huegel, to approve meeting minutes of March 12 & 13, 2007. Roll Call: Three Ayes. Motion Carried.
Supervisor Pickar was absent from until .
The Board allowed claims.
Bids were opened for sale of two sheriff department vehicles, as follows: 1999 Ford: John Mihm $525.00 and Ron Schaufenbuel $503.00 and 1993 Chrysler: John Mihm $525.00. Deputy Todd Miller was present for the bids with discussion following.
Motion Huegel, Seconded by Schueth, to accept each bid of $525.00 for 1999 Ford and 1993 Chrysler.Roll Call: Three Ayes. Motion Carried.
County Engineer Assistant John Murray and Engineer Dusten Rolando met with the Board to discuss road departmental activities.
Motion by Huegel, Seconded by Schueth, to adjourn at Three Ayes, with Motion Carried.

Assistant County Attorney Mark Huegel met with the Board for update of property purchase at 302 East Prospect in New Hampton. Property closing was held later in the day, with only zoning change to commercial left to be completed.

The Board received and filed IDNR Annual Manure Management Plan Updates for Don Kurtenbach (#59339) located at 2145 Stanley Ave., Lawler in Section 17 of Stapleton Township and (#62176) located at 2379 Roanke Ave., Lawler in Section 19 of Stapleton Township and Terry & Steven Schulz (ID#63719) located at 1947 230th St., New Hampton in Section 22 of Dayton Township and 2nd submission for previously incomplete confinement feeding operation construction permit for facility to be located in Howard County with field application sites in Chickasaw County.
Board members, Pickar, Boge, Huegel and Schueth along with Auditor Babcock toured Iowa Base Inc., which is a county–funded economic development manufacturing industry located at 1616 270th St., Ionia.There was an on-site lunch and the manufacturing site was toured with cement base product processing observed.
