COUNTY BOARD MINUTES
NOVEMBER 10 & 11, 2008
The Board convened on Monday, November 10, 2008 at with all members present: Boge, Pickar, Huegel, Schueth, Mattke. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Boge. Mail was opened and distributed.
Motion by Huegel, Seconded by Pickar, to approve agenda for November 10, 2008.All Ayes, with Motion Carried.
Motion by Huegel, Seconded by Pickar, to approve Board Minutes of November 3 & 4, 2008.Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried.
CPC Sheila Kobliska spoke with the Board via phone conference to discuss client services and financial eligibility.Explanation and discussion followed.
Motion by Pickar, Seconded by Mattke, to approve eligibility status for client services currently under denial by insurance provider.Roll Call: Five Ayes. Motion Carried.
CountyEngineer Dusten Rolando met with the Board to discuss road departmental activities.
Motion by Schueth, Seconded by Pickar, to approve andauthorize Chairman Signature on permit for Hawkeye County REC to place underground power line in county right of way at Kenwood Avenue just north of 210th St., and also North of the railroad crossing I Sections 11 & 12 of Dayton Township.Roll Call: Five Ayes. Motion Carried.
Assessor Doug Welton met with the Board for review and approval of 2008 Family Farm Credit Applications.Individuals are eligible to receive the credit if the appropriate designated person is actively engage in farming of an eligible tract of land during the fiscal year in which the application is filed, with the 2001 Iowa legislature having changed the filing of this credit to a one-time filing.
Motion by Huegel, Seconded by Mattke, to approve and authorize Chairman Signature for the new 2008 Family Farm credit applications. Roll Call: Five Ayes. Motion Carried.
The Board allowed claims.
The Board recessed for lunch at and reconvened at in the board room with all members present.
Board members proceed to canvass the General Election as required by IAC 50.24.
Motion by Schueth, Seconded by Pickar, to approve canvass of votes cast at the General Election and authorize Auditor to certify results to the Iowa Secretary of State and record in the Permanent Election Register.Roll Call: Five Ayes. Motion Carried.
The Board received and filed Veterans Affairs Report of October 2008.
Motion by Huegel, Seconded by Schueth, to adjourn at .Roll Call: Five Ayes. Motion Carried.
