Motion by Boge, Seconded by Holthaus to approve and authorize Chairman signature on the SCHIP and Cobra Amendment to the Chickasaw County Health Insurance.Roll Call:

Motion byHolthaus, Seconded by Boge to approve the Change of Status for Sherry Grober from Part-time on call Dispatcher to part-time scheduled Dispatcher effective April 20, 2009 at $14.71 per hour as per union contract. Roll Call:All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Motion by Mattke, Seconded by Andersen to approve the hire of Gloria Bjergum as part time scheduled dispatcher in the Sheriff’s Department effective May 18, 2009 at $ 12.45 per hour; July 1, 2009 $12.95 per hour, and50 cents increase upon successfully completed probationary period as per union contract.Roll Call: All Ayes. Sue Breitbach, Treasurer met with the Board to discuss abating mobile home taxes and penalty.
Motion by Boge, Seconded by Andersen to adopt resolution 05-26-2009-11 to approve tax abatements.Roll Call:All Ayes. Motion Carried. WHEREAS, the real estate taxes, listed under the name of Mary Alderman, due for a mobile home, which is a building on leased land, are shown delinquent on the Treasurer’s tax rolls and this mobile home is in very poor condition and will be junked.According to Iowa Code Section 435.25 the Board of Supervisors may abate taxes on property by resolution when it is administratively impractical to pursue tax collection through remedies of this section, all taxes and any interest shall be abated by resolution of the Board of Supervisors. WHEREAS, the mobile home is described as owned by Mary Alderman or Steve Wiggins VIN#06-L-19794, Title #19W075383 and is a 1986 Lib mobile home. Taxes are owed for 2001 thru 2007 for a total amount of $766.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, this Board is in agreement by their motion on May 26, 2009, and directs the Treasurer to strike from the tax books and abate any and all taxes and penalty due.

At one bid was received and opened for the sale of 2001 Ford in the sheriff’s department.

Motion by Andersen, Seconded by Holthaus to purchase carpet for the nurse’s station at the Heritage Residence from Dungey’s Furniture in the amount of $542.59.Roll Call:All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Motion by Holthaus, Seconded by Boge to purchase a Multiquip generator/light tower from B & J Construction Supply Inc. in the amount of $9178.09.Roll Call:All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Sheila Kobliska, Targeted Case Manager met with the Board for departmental updates.
Sheila reviewed Chickasaw-Mitchell Case Management for FY 2008-2009, actual cost report for FY 08, and accreditation survey completed by the DHS.
The Board received and filed Veteran’s Affairs report for the month of April, 2009.
The Board allowed claims.
Mark Kvammen, NEICAC, met with the Board to discuss Rent-to-Own program.
