COUNTY BOARD MINUTES

SEPTEMBER 6 & 7, 2010

 

The Courthouse and offices were closed Labor Day Holiday.

 

The Board convened on Tuesday, September 6, 2010 with all members present:   Boge, Holthaus, Mattke, Andersen and Pickar. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Boge. Mail was opened and distributed.  Also present a member from the media.

 

Motion by Pickar, Seconded by Andersen to approve agenda for September 6 & 7, 2010 Roll Call:  All Ayes.   Motion Carried.

 

Motion by Andersen, Seconded by Pickar to approve board minutes of August 30 & 31, 2010.   Roll Call: All Ayes.  Motion Carried.

 

Custodian Dave Gorman met with Board for an update on the roofing project at the sheriff’s garage.  Supervisor Holthaus and Custodian Dave Gorman met with Marv Hackman to address the concerns of the air conditioning unit and also reviewed the specs of the project.  Dave will keep the Board informed on the progress of the project.

 

The Board discussed the “Social Host” Ordinance.

 

Motion by Andersen, Seconded by Holthaus to set the second public hearing date for the “Social Host” ordinance for September 27, 2010 at 9:45 AM.  Roll Call:  All Ayes. Motion Carried.

 

County Engineer, Dusten Rolando met with the Board to discuss departmental activities. Topics included:  maintenance and services of vehicles; maintenance of the gravel roads;

Sign repairs as needed at various areas; edge rutting at Boyd Blacktop, mowing gravel roads; spot rocking at various areas; BR 1690 day labor placing beams and bridge decking; bridge repair list; review budget dollars; seal coat project finalized; entrance work and maintenance; entrance and ditch cleaning permits; inventory at shop, etc.

 

Supervisor Pickar left at 10:30 AM.

 

Jack Lipovac, representing HR-One Source, met with the Board union negotiations contracts as per Iowa Code Section 20; Section 17.3.  Also present were: County Engineer Dusten Rolando, Sheriff Marty Larsen, Public Health and Home Care Services Administrator Kathy Babcock, Assessor Doug Welton and Treasurer Sue Breitbach.

 

The Board received and filed IDNR Manure Management Annual Update for Randy Bruess and Charles Hadacek dba H & B, LLC (ID#64009 in Section 36 of Utica Township located at 3352 120th Street, Waucoma, IA 52171

Received and filed Chickasaw Township Annual Report for Receipts and Disbursements for FY 2009-2010.

Received Chickasaw County Environmental Health Revenue Report for the month of August, 2010.

Received Chickasaw County Emergency Management Agency Revenue Report for the month of August, 2010.

Received E-911 Revenue Report for the month of August, 2010.

Chairman Boge declared adjournment at 12:20 PM
