COUNTY BOARD MINUTES MAY 26 & 27, 2014 The Courthouse and offices was closed on Monday, May 26, 2014 in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday. The Board convened on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 with all members present: Byrne, Holthaus, Andersen, Zoll, and Geerts. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Holthaus. Mail was opened and distributed. Motion by Andersen, Seconded by Zoll to approve agenda for May 26 & 27, 2014. Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried. Motion by Byrne, Seconded by Geerts to approve board minutes of May 19 & 20, 2014. Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried. Land Use Administrator Staci Schutte met with Board to review and approve minor subdivision for Alex Reicks. Motion by Andersen, Seconded by Byrne to approve and authorize Chairman Signature on the Resolution for the minor subdivision for Alex Reicks as per recommendation of the Land Use Administrator. Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried. RESOLUTION 05-27-14-16 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE MINOR SUBDIVISION PLAT OF PARCEL C IN PARCEL B IN THE SOUTH HALF OF THE FRACTIONAL NORTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 4, TOWNSHIP 96 NORTH, RANGE 11 WEST OF THE 5TH P.M., CHICKASAW COUNTY, IOWA. WHEREAS, on the 27th Day of May 2014 at a regular meeting by the Board of Supervisors, Chickasaw County, Iowa a minor subdivision plat of Parcel C in Parcel B in the South Half of the Fractional Northeast Quarter of Section 4, Township 96 North, Range 11 West of the 5th p.m., Chickasaw County, Iowa. WHEREAS, the minor subdivision plat of Parcel C in Parcel B in the South Half of the Fractional Northeast Quarter of Section 4, Township 96 North, Range 11 West of the 5th p.m., Chickasaw County, Iowa has been considered and should be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved by the Board of Supervisors, Chickasaw County, Iowa that said Minor Subdivision Plat be approved, accepted and the Chairman is hereby directed to certify this Resolution of Approval. PASSED AND APPROVED on this 27th day of MAY, 2014. /ss/ Rick Holthaus, Chairman, Board of Supervisors. ATTEST: /ss/ Joan E. Knoll, Auditor. Motion by Byrne, Seconded by Geerts to approve fireworks permit for Tony Pleggenkuhle. Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried. Assistant County Attorney Mark Huegel, Treasurer Sue Breitbach and the Board discussed via phone conference with Chap Hoppe the Shady Acres mobile home park. Also present were two members from the media. Mr. Hoppe informed the Board that he had three potential buyers for the 9.51 acres for the mobile home park known as Shady Acres, but the delinquent taxes on the eight mobile homes is in the amount of $11,378.00 needs to be paid and the mobile homes removed from the property by July 1, 2014 to avoid another tax billing. Discussion followed. Mr. Hoppe and the Board would like to resolve the matter. It was the consensus of the Board that the County Attorney’s office and Mr. Hoppe’s attorney discuss the matter further and update the Board of the progress. The County Engineer Dusten Rolando met with the Board to discuss road departmental activities. Topics included: maintenance and service of vehicles; maintenance of gravel roads; entrances, tile lines, ditch cleaning; dust control permits, patching asphalt (cold mix); spot rocking, blades out all week; retriever put on tractor starting on paved road shoulders (winters trailer west B-57); V-21 concrete patches to start 6-2-14; sign repair, detour route for V-21; clean around guardrail’s on paved roads; patching bridge concrete decks; bridge decking continues (pour deck Wed-Thurs this week), etc. Motion by Byrne, Seconded by Andersen to acknowledge the appointment of Barry Klingman as Secondary Road Foreman effective May 26, 2014 at the rate of $21.63 per hour and per recommendation of the County Engineer. Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried. The Board received and filed an annual update management plan for Jeff Pleggenkuhle-Hoeger Site (ID# 63926) in Section 6 of Bethel Township located in 24280 Y Avenue, Waucoma, IA 52171. The Board received and filed an annual update management plan for Jeff Pleggenkuhle-Home Site (ID# 63770) in Section 8 of Bethel Township located in 23689 X Avenue, Waucoma, IA 52171. The Board received and filed an annual update management plan for Walter Wendland Site (ID# 63876) in Section 26 of Stapleton Township located in 3269 240th Street, Waucoma, IA 52171. Motion by Andersen, Seconded by Geerts to adjourn the meeting at 12:35 PM. Roll Call: All Ayes.
