COUNTY BOARD MINUTES
NOVEMBER 23, 2015
The Board convened on Monday,
November 23, 2015 at with all members
present: Carolan, Holthaus, Geerts, Zoll, and Andersen.The meeting was called to order by Chairman
Holthaus.Mail was opened and
Motion by Andersen, Seconded by Zoll to approve agenda for November 23
& 24, 2015.Roll Call:All Ayes.Motion Carried.
Motion by Zoll, Seconded by Andersen to approve board minutes of
November 16 & 17, 2015. Roll Call:All
The Assistant County Engineer John Murray met with the Board to discuss
road departmental activities.Topics
included:maintenance and service of
vehicles; maintenance of gravel; picked up junk/garbage; entrance, ditch
cleaning, crossroad culverts; installing preparing snow equipment; snow started
Friday, 20th; 7 one-way out @2:00 PM-5:45; Sat. November 21, , all
blades out @ 5:00, one ways out at 5:30; one-ways in 4-4:30, blades out last
one in 7:30 PM, all road plowed by Saturday evening; Sunday, November 22nd
4-one ways 5:00-8:00 PM dressing snow equipment, maintainers plows-post-wings,
one-ways plows wing etc.; patching paved roads; hauled rock to yard, spot rock,
edge rutting; new bridge weight limits up and in place, repair signs; bridge
repair; survey-day labor projects, design day projects 1780, 3420; updating SIMMS-bridge
inspection; final out projects from 2015 construction projects.
Representatives of the City Nashua met with the Board to discuss the communications
(Dispatch Services) bill that Nashua had received
from the County. Present were Assistant County Attorney Mark Huegel, Sheriff
Todd Miller, Chief Deputy Marty Hemann, Ken Rasing, Nashua Chief of Police Paul
Becthold, Nashua Mayor Angelina Dietz, and Nashua Police Travis Marvin and a
member from the media.The City of Nashua expressed their
concerns regarding the communications (Dispatch Services)bill.Discussion followed.
Assessor Doug Welton met with the Board to review 2015 Family Farm
Motion by Carolan, Seconded by Andersen to allow the 2015 Family Farm
Applications as recommended for
allowance by the County Assessor and authorize the Chairman to sign.Roll Call:All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Received and filed in the Auditorís Office MMP short form for annual
updates for Rod Hinz (ID# 57706) in Section 18, of DeerfieldTownship located at 1655 Asherton
Ave. Charles City, IA 50616
Received and filed in the Auditorís Office Jendro Sanitation rural
recycling collection report for the month of November 2015.
Motion by Geerts, Seconded by Carolan to adjourn the meeting at Roll Call:All Ayes.Motion Carried.
