The Courthouse and Offices were closed on Monday, May 31, 2004 in observance of Memorial Day.
The Board convened on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at with all members present: Boge, Huegel, Schueth, Pickar, Mattke. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Boge. Mail was opened and distributed.
CountyEngineer Dusten Rolando met with the Board to discuss road departmental activities.
Pat Ackley and Brad Ellison, representing concerned citizens from 260th Street near Fredericksburg met with the Board to express concerns for excessive numbers of semi truck traffic and safety of local citizens due to IDOT bridge on 270th Street closed due to flood damage. Their request was to embargo 250th and 260th Streets between V48 and V56. The Board directed the Engineer to request detour compliance enforcement and complete a feasibility study in response to the request.
Motion by Mattke, Seconded by Schueth, to approve and authorize Chairman to sign Agreement with the IDOT to use V48, B54 and V56 as detour route while the Highway 18 bridge east of Fredericksburg is closed for repair. Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Board members entered into discussion regarding salary and benefit package to be offered to Sheila Kobliska, CPC, for employment beginning July 1, 2004, with an employment contract under development.
Motion by Mattke, Seconded by Boge, to approve 5-day temporary outdoor liquor license for Charles City Pub Crawlers, LLC effective June 11 to 16, 2004. Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried.
The Board allowed claims.
Motion by Schueth, Seconded by Huegel, to approve Board Minutes of May 24 & 25, 2004. Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried.
