COUNTY BOARD MINUTES
JUNE 15 & 16, 2009
The Board convened on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 9:30 A.M. with a quorum present: Boge, Holthaus, and Andersen. Absent: Mattke, Pickar. The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Boge. Mail was opened and distributed. Supervisor Pickar present at 10:00 A.M.
Motion by Andersen, Seconded by Holthaus to approve agenda for June 15 & 16, 2009.
Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Motion by Andersen, Seconded by Boge to approve board minutes of June 8 & 9, 2009. Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Joe Sheehy met with the Board to give a departmental update. Topics for discussion were the appointment of veterans affairs commission board member, the veterans office hours effective July 1, 2009, $10,000 federal grant and how the funds will be utilized for the operations of the county office in compliance with Iowa Code section 35B.6 to satisfy the new hours and accreditation requirements.
Dusten Rolando, County Engineer met with the Board to discuss road departmental activities.
Motion by Holthaus, Seconded by Boge to approve Fireworks Permit for Robert Flick. Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Motion by Andersen, Seconded by Holthaus to approve Fireworks Permit for Don Blazek. Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Motion by Boge, Seconded by Andersen to approve the outstanding check list one year and older as per Iowa Code section 331.554 subsection 7. Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Motion by Boge, Seconded by Andersen to approve 50 cents increase for completion of probationary period for Joan Straw. Roll Call: All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Received and filed Jendro Sanitation rural recycling collections route for the month of May, 2009.
Received and filed Veterans Affairs report of May, 2009.
Motion by Andersen, Seconded by Holthaus to adjourn at Noon. Roll Call:
All Ayes. Motion Carried.
The Board of Supervisors and Auditor toured Carbo Machine, Alta Vista Fire Station/City Hall, and Lane/ Petersen Livestock on Tuesday, June 16, 2009.
