Before a recreational vehicle or vessel can be registered a receipt, bill of
sale or satisfactory evidence that the sales or use tax has been paid for the
purchase of the vehicle must be presented.
BOAT REGISTRATION AND TITLE
New and/or transferred recreational vehicles and vessels are registered in
Chickasaw County. Boat registrations expire on April 30th, 2010. Boat fees are
based on the length of the boat. All boats over 17' in length must have a
title. Boats with a lien must be titled.
Casual sales of boats are now subject to Iowa Sales Tax. Boat renewals are now
available. The registration period for boats are now every 3 years. The new
renewal fees are:

ATV AND SNOWMOBILE REGISTRATION AND TITLE
Casual sales of snowmobiles, ATV's and ORV's are now subject to Iowa Sales Tax.
ATV and snowmobile registration expires on December 31st of each year.
ATV's and snowmobiles must have a title.
